We were deeply saddened to receive your phone call regarding the passing of Eric. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss, words cannot express what you are going through. Eric and Brian were friends for a long time, I enjoyed seeing him when he would stop by and see Brian.

Condolences to the family.   The ones we love are never gone; they live within our hearts.

I imagine there is no pain deeper than losing a child.  Our hearts and prayers go out to your and your family at this most difficult time.  Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss.

To the Bowen Family,
I want you all to know how very sorry I am of Eric's passing. I want to remember him as the most amazing, caring, loving person that he was. I met Eric when I was just 14 I think. We met at a youth group and have been in and out of each others lives for quiet some time. We met back up after high school where we both worked at Ruby Tuesday. My most vivid and favorite memory of Eric was how big his heart was when he cared about you. While at work one day we discussed our upcoming birthdays and I said that I wanted to do something special for him. My idea was to definitely embarrass him. He threatened me by saying that my birthday came right after his and to be careful what I did. Well, I went ahead and bought a very large sheet cake, snuck it into the walk-in cooler and secretly had it moved out to the front of the restaurant where all our coworkers, along with some customers, all sang happy birthday to him. He was pretty embarrassed. He was also very appreciative and so very happy that day.  Just over a month later came my birthday and true to his promise, he got me back. He took me out to dinner, which was nice and before the end of it our server came out with a cake for me, singing happy birthday. The catch with this is that he had an embarrassing picture of me in a Halloween costume from when I was probably 10 years old printed onto it. He and my sister worked together to get the most embarrassing picture of me onto that cake and I was in tears. Both from embarrassment and just pure joy. 
Eric was true to word, ALWAYS. We were close but not like some people. There was always something that he and I shared and I wish I had that back. I tried hard to get back in touch with him but was never successful. Thankfully I kept in contact with Gavin and his beautiful wife Melissa over the years as well as a yearly Christmas card to Mr & Mrs Bowen. I always hoped that one day I would hear from him again. I truly loved and will miss Eric until my end.
