Answering his nation's call, Don proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. Upon his return, he married Rose Giuditta and forged a life in Sayreville, NJ. Their union blessed them with two loving children, Barbara (James Szatkowski) and John (Alexandra), who brought immeasurable joy into their lives.
Don's professional path led him into the trucking industry, where his dedication and leadership flourished. An advocate for workers' rights, he served on the board of the Teamsters Union, advocating tirelessly for his colleagues. Over time, his expertise and commitment saw him rise to the role of transportation and warehousing manager, a testament to his unwavering work ethic and passion for excellence.
Later in life, Don found renewed happiness in his marriage to Dale (Meringer), with whom he shared a beautiful home in Florida where he also pursued a successful career in real estate. Together, they expanded their loving family with Dale’s two children, Stephanie (Scott Crawford) and Chris Meringer (Maria), creating a legacy of love and warmth that would endure through generations.
