Deborah Thomas Wilson

Debbie was born on December 5th, 1956, to David and Nancy Thomas in Hartford, Connecticut.

After graduating from Manchester High School in 1974, she attended Manchester Community College to pursue her career as a legal secretary. She went on to complete her Associate in Science in Secretarial Studies, majoring in Legal Secretary Studies at Bryant College. She graduated with high honors in 1978.

It was at Bryant where she met her best friend and love of her life, Peter Marshall Wilson. They were married on May 17th, 1980, in Glastonbury, Connecticut. It wasn't long before the warmth of the Florida sun lured them to move. In February of 1981, they settled in Port Saint Lucie. They had two children. Their son, Trevor Thomas Wilson, is married to Michele Cacchio Wilson and lives in Port Saint Lucie; and their daughter, Rachel Wilson Bergmann, is married to Andrew Michael Bergmann and lives in Burlington, Massachusetts. She was blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, Brooke Nicole Wilson and Zachary Thomas Wilson, both of Port Saint Lucie.

Debbie was predeceased by her father, David Thomas. She is survived by her mother, Nancy Watson Thomas of Colchester, Connecticut, and her two sisters, Laura Thomas of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Brenda Thomas of Ellington, Connecticut.

Her many interests included her love of camping, fishing, scouting, gardening, reading, art shows, and concerts. She especially loved to travel. They went on many cruises, but traveling in their RV was her favorite.

Debbie was always known as “the Glue” who would bring everyone together. She was dedicated and devoted to maintaining her many lasting friendships with her high school "8-years group," who were always looking forward to a fun party; her neighborhood (AKA "the Hood"), who support and look out for each other; her Bryant Buddies; and her many special colleagues who she had worked with throughout the years.

Her family would like to thank Treasure Coast Hospice for all the support, guidance, and loving care they provided. A special thank you to her CNA, Merle, and her nurse, Patti, for their dedication to providing loving and dignified care during a very difficult time.
