You will be highly missed sir. Thank you for being a great teacher thank you for teaching me so much about life and about history. You never failed to make me smile or to feel cared for as a student. Thank you so much for all the time you have put in for so many people and children in this life. May you enjoy the presence of our heavenly father.. fly high

First Sergeant Powell and the memories I carry of him will always be kept near and dear. He never missed a beat to make sure I held my head up and always extended his jokes to put a smile on his students faces.

First Sergeant Powell was always so kind to me! When I first started working at Jupiter High School, he saw that I had a University of Michigan bag and asked me to come see his office. I gasped when there was floor to ceiling Ohio State merchandize. After that, we would always talk Big 10 football. I told him I was going to a Michigan game and he asked me to bring him a pennant from the stadium. After making sure he wasn't going to burn it, I followed through and, to my surprise, that pennant was hanging in his office until he retired. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. He made such a positive impact in my life in the short time that I knew him, so I can only imagine his impact on his close circle.
