Athenia was born on the island of Dominica in the West Indies. She had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for the past fifteen years coming from Co-op City in The Bronx, New York.
Prior to retirement, she worked over 30 years as a Pharmacy Technician for Montefiore Hospital in The Bronx, New York.
She was preceded in death by her son, Darnley “Bubba” Lecointe and her brother, Daniel Green.
Survivors include her daughter, Armanda H. Lecointe; two sons, Michael F. Lecointe and Ronald Lecointe; two brothers, Milton Green, Benoit Sorhaindo; one sister, Bertha Pierre; her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Lecointe; two grandchildren, Ashley Lecointe and Eric Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm -8:00 pm, Friday, March 9, 2018 at Aycock at Tradition, Life Celebration Center, 12571 SW Tradition Parkway, Port St. Lucie, FL 34987.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 930 SW Tunis Avenue, Port St. Lucie, FL 34953. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, FL 34990.
