ALFRED C. BRUHIN, JR., beloved husband of Patricia Trefz Bruhin for 57 years, of Port St. Lucie, FL and Suffield, CT, son of the late Alfred C. and Edna Marie Campbell Bruhin, born September 9, 1938 in Darby, PA died peacefully after a brief illness on July 2, 2018.
Al was a member of the Knights of Columbus #13047 of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Port St. Lucie, FL. He was a member of the Port St. Lucie Power Squadron, United States Power Squadrons, a member of the Parish Council at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Port St. Lucie, Lector for many years at St. Joseph Parish in Media, PA and St. Mary Parish Simsbury, CT, President of the Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association, a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians for over 44 years, and a ham radio operator AI1R.
Al was employed by the General Electric Company for 37 years working in Philadelphia, PA, Bridgeport, CT., Plainville, CT and in Hong Kong for 5 years.
He loved traveling and talking about all the places he had visited, spending time with his grandchildren, involving them in his magic tricks and teaching them to work with him building furniture. Many family members have Al's paintings hanging in their homes.
Survived by his wife and loving father to 5 sons, Alfred C., III (Darlene), Michael R., Joseph D. (Laurie), Patrick J. (Kimberly), Gregory J. and one daughter, Mary Bruhin Thibault (Paul), Eleven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Also surviving are two brothers, David W. (Carol), Robert F. (Karen), two sisters, Maryanna Ralph (George), and Barbara Kenney (Daniel), and numerous nieces and nephews. Al was predeceased by his parents and son, David A. Bruhin.
Visitation will be Friday, July 6, 2018 from 4:00PM - 7:00PM, with a Vigil at 5PM at the Aycock Funeral Home, 1504 SE Floresta Drive, Port St. Lucie, FL.
A Celebration of Al's Life will be held in Connecticut at a later date.
