Ron, as many of his family, friends, and customers knew him as, was born in Lake Wales, FL. He was one of the few Florida natives around. Ron attended Lake Wales High School and graduated in 1967. He went on to the University of Florida for a short period of time before joining the United States Marine Corp. and was deployed to Vietnam. He was awarded two Purple Hearts upon his honorable discharge.
Upon returning home, Ron settled in Orlando, FL where he received his degree and worked for many years in the industrial pipe industry. There he met his wife Nancy and married in 1994. Ron was an avid golfer. He could usually be found at Black Bear Golf Club because according to Ron you can’t lose your golf ball there! He also enjoyed travelling, the beach, and watching college football - namely “his” Florida Gators. He recently retired and moved to Ponce Inlet, FL with his wife Nancy. Together they loved travelling, socializing, and entertaining family and friends. Pop-Pop, as his seven grandsons knew him, enjoyed spending time with them at the beach.
Ron truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. His smile was infectious as was his personality and sense of humor. Racing’s North Turn and Wolfy’s have lost a valued customer! He will be missed by so many, but his incredible stories will forever live on.
