Priscilla was born in Cherokee Falls, SC daughter of Florence Pauline and Fred O. Thomas.
She was raised in Gastonia, NC and received her degree in Education from Carson-Newman College in 1959.
Priscilla taught elementary education for 37 years in Jacksonville FL, 1959-1962, Baltimore, MD, 1962-1969 and Vincentown, NJ, 1969 until her retirement in 1996. She then moved to the Daytona Beach area to care for her parents.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Crane Lake Bowling League, the Eagles, and the Red Hat Society. She also had a passion for needlepoint, golf and traveling extensively with her daughter.
She is survived by her children, Thomas H. and Sandra L. Grimes, Riverton, NJ and Pauline E. Grimes and Bonnie Fenwick, Port Orange, FL; brother, Fred O. “Tom” Thomas, Gainesville, FL and 3 grandchildren, Sarah E., Justin T., and William H. Grimes all of Riverton, NJ.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Henry L. Grimes who passed in 2003.
The family will receive friends with a service to follow 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Central Baptist Church 142 Fairview Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
