I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Nancy at Atlantic High School. She was truly an amazing and caring person. My prayers to the family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Nancy briefly while on a spring break trip with Carl and she hosted us in Daytona Beach. A lovely lady. My condolences to her family and to my company mate Carl.

My father - who was a tough Texan - told me that the worst loss he ever had was when his mother passed away.  I can't begin to imagine how large the hole in your heart is right now, but you should know that there are a lot of your USNA brothers who care deeply about you as our family and look forward to seeing you in the future. The Schwenker name was very familiar in our home as not only were our parents colleagues at Halifax, but they were dear friends who loved to go dancing. It wasn’t until many years later that I came to know my Mom’s dear friend Nancy.  We met one evening when I was heading out for the evening with Midshipman Carl III who said to me, “my mom wants us to stop by the house tonight if that’s okay. “ I said I would love to see Nancy.  We walked in the house and found Nancy in the living room visiting with a guest. They were sitting on the couch, each drinking a beer and smoking a cigarette. Nancy sweetly said, “hello Maureen, I knew your mother, Marilyn. Maureen, this is Richard Petty. “ 

I can emphasize as it was very hard when my mom passed away over 20 years ago- grief but remembered all the stuff she taught me and loved us.

I had the pleasure of working with Nancy for many years at Atlantic High.  She was such an amazing person , who everyone loved.  Sending prayers to her family .

I met Nancy at Atlantic High School back in 2001.   She is one of a kind. A truly amazing woman.
