Nancy was born on November 26, 1939 to Ernest and Frances Parkyn, in Wauconda, IL. She grew up on a farm in Volo, IL. Her family later moved to Miami, FL where she graduated with a degree in Nursing. Nancy was an ER nurse at Halifax Hospital, the Daytona Jai Alai Fronton, Daytona Speedway Infield Hospital, and Atlantic High School. She retired in 2014 and dedicated her remaining time to caring for her grandson, Aiden.
Nancy was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family will remember her for her compassion and her love of such performing artists such as Liberace, Elvis, and Neil Diamond.
Nancy is survived by her son, Carl E. Schwenker III of Orange Park, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jennifer Schwenker of Marietta, GA; daughter, Valerie Schwenker of Port Orange, FL; and three grandsons, Benjamin, Samuel, and Aiden. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters Lois Grubb and Jeanette Reeves.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held Saturday, November 14, from 12-2pm at Shannon Maloney Funeral Home with a brief memorial service beginning at 1pm.
