Mary E. McVey , 83, of Port Orange passed away January 5, 2013 at Halifax Health Medical Center. Mary was born February 3, 1929 in Newark, NJ, daughter of Michael and Rose (Ides) Kennedy. A retired seamstress, she moved to this area twenty five years ago from Washington, NJ. She was an active member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church where she belonged to the Social Seniors and volunteered many hours working in the Thrift Store. Everyone will remember her as an outgoing fun loving person who was a friend to many. She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards with her friends taking cruses and time with her family. Her husband William predeceased her. Left to cherish her memory are her children, James (Laurie) McVey, Linda Edwards and Maureen (Bobby) Broennle; her twin sister, Theresa Missbach; 6 grandchildren , 5 great-grandchildren and her niece Sandra Missbach. Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbrier Trail, Port Orange, Fl. At her request services will be private.
