Born in Ashland, ME to John and Julia Prue, Lillian was a civilian clerk for the United States Air Force before becoming a hairdresser for a few years in Maine.
She met her husband, Alphe Martin, and they were married on July 12, 1948. He predeceased her in 2002.
After marriage, Lillian became a homemaker – raising her daughter, Elaine, and moving to Florida from Portsmouth, NH in 1976, finding a home in the Summer Trees III Community for over 40 years.
While in Florida, Alphe and Lillian made many friends through square dancing every week, bowling twice weekly, traveling and various activities at Epiphany Catholic Church, where she was a long time member, eucharistic minister, and Adoration prayer partner. After Alphe’s passing, Lillian moved into Countryside Lakes along with Harry Scharadin where her social nature continued, and their friendship grew until his passing.
She is survived by her sister Vivian Lamar of Presque Isle, ME; daughter, Elaine Hansen of San Bernardino, CA; 2 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, many cousins and dear friends.
Lillian will be laid to rest alongside her beloved Alphe in Caribou, ME at a later date under the direction of Dunn Funeral Home.
