Mrs. Lenore M. Fox of New Smyrna Beach passed away peacefully Wednesday March 13, 2019. Lenore was born in St. Croix, U.S, Virgin Islands as the youngest child of Bernhardt and Sophia Brandt. At age 18 she left the islands and headed to Washington D.C. where she met Howard while working for GEICO insurance. It was the lack of warm weather that finally convinced her to move her young family south to Florida and settle in New Smyrna Beach. Having sons in elementary school led her to taking a “part time” job in the school system so she could be home when her kids were home. It was well after her youngest had graduated and her first grandchild had entered school that she decided it was time to retire after more than 25 years with the Volusia County School System.
Lenore’s legacy lives on through her husband Howard Fox, sons; Ken (Sharon) Fox, Bob Fox and Ronald Fox. She was also blessed with 3 grandchildren; April Marie (Sam) Atkinson, Anne Marie Fox and Marcus Burton Fox as well as 2 great granddaughters; Payton Marie Atkinson and Raegan Elizabeth Atkinson.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
