Donald was a proud Marine during the Korean war serving stateside. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Eggertsville Fire Dept in New York. He was employed by General Motors in Tonawanda, NY, from 1957 to 1987. He moved to Florida full time in the late 1990s and later became a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society taking cancer patients to and from their chemo sessions. He later became a volunteer for Meals on Wheels making deliveries with his wife JoAnne. He was also a crossing guard for Volusia County Schools in the Port Orange area. Donald was a very loving, caring man with a desire to serve others and will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, JoAnne, stepson Gabriel Williams (Jamie), 4 grandchildren, Kimmy, Courtney, Elijah, Brandon, 2 nieces, Karen and Linda, 3 nephews, Charlie, Joe and Frank, and sister, Nancy Benton of NY.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 405 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange, FL, on August 31 at 3:00 pm.
