Donald J. Schmidt

2021. He was born on March 28, 1935 in Eastchester, NY to his parents George and Ellen Schmidt. He

is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: William, Peter, Leonard, George, Violet and Helen.

Donald leaves to cherish fond memories, his former wife, Barbara Schmidt; his loving children:

Linda Bohannon, Donald Schmidt, Jr., Margaret McGowan, and Barbara Wolf (Bill); his grandchildren:

Kristen, Justin, Jesseca, Zachary (Justine), Brandon, Taylor, and Troy; his great-grandchildren: Kendall,

Emma, Jackson, Lydia, Mason and Jolee; and his niece Jackie MacMahon (Neil).

Donald served in the United States Navy from 1955-1957. He was stationed in Pensacola, Florida

and Kodiak, Alaska. Donald and Barbara moved to Port Orange, Florida in 1967 to raise their family.

Donald worked as an automotive and marine mechanic. In his spare time Donald loved coaching little

league, fishing, golfing, playing the lotto and betting on the dogs!! Donald’s greatest enjoyment in life

was spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and loved ones.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Volusia Memorial
