Beloved Matriarch Dolores Martin, surrounded by loved ones in her Port Orange home, was ushered into the Kingdom of Heaven and finally reunited with predeceased sons Dean and Stephen Antoni on Tuesday, February 18th.
Dolores enjoyed sewing, reading, baking, and cooking but nothing more than spending time with her great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren. The quintessential family “mother” proudly followed with her Italian heritage of hospitality, making sure never to let anyone leave her house hungry and never failed to make everyone feel welcomed and at home with her. Although she accomplished some amazing things in her lifetime, none were so important to her or made her prouder than that of her family. She taught her family the value of traditions and togetherness with years of holiday gatherings and Sunday dinners full of meatballs, pasta, and love. She encouraged all around her to strive to be the best they could be with her Italian style tough love and no nonsense straight talk. She always spoke her mind and never settled for less than what she though was right. She lived life her way and accepted no excuses from anyone, insisting that you own your decisions in life. She had a real zest for life with every day lived to the fullest from the crack of dawn until her head hit the pillow. There was always a project or task to be accomplished. She was the perfect example of what a strong, independent, yet caring role model a person should be.
Although she will be greatly and selfishly missed by all those who have known her, those who knew and loved her the most shall rejoice in the completion of her earthly journey and beginning of her life forever after with the Lord.
Dolores is survived by four children; Janet Meyer, Nancy Silcox, Mary Ellen Zink, and Dominic Antonuzzi Jr., twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren with one more on the way, one great-great grandchild, and her best friend/furry companion Abigail.
She will be loved always and we shall look forward to being together with her again in the Kingdom of God
