David W. Peck, 86, of Daytona Beach Shores passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017. Son of the late Dorothea B. Peck, David was born in Jersey City, NJ on December 9, 1930. Growing up in New Jersey, he graduated from Metuchen High School in 1948, and served in the US Navy. David married his wife of 65 years, Betty Jane Anderson on November 3, 1951; she survives. An electrical engineer by trade, he attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY and worked at Westinghouse Corp. and Dranetz Engineering for many years. A Mason, and former Master of the Lodge (Mt. Zion Lodge #135 F&AM in Metuchen, NJ), David and Betty Jane came to Daytona Beach Shores in 1995. An avid golfer, David served as scorekeeper for the golf club at Oceans West, which was recently renamed in his honor. In addition to Betty Jane, David’s memory will be cherished by his four daughters, Janice (John) Fisher, Marjorie (Mark) Forgang, Patti P. (Leo) Stokinger, and Victoria Peck (Frank Casey); 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Viewing for friends and family will be held Friday, 5/5/2017, from 2pm – 5 pm in the chapel of Shannon Maloney Funeral Home, 4084 Halifax Drive, Port Orange FL 32127. A Funeral Service will be held the following morning (Saturday 5/6/2017) at 10am at Westminster By-The-Sea Presbyterian Church, 3221 S. Peninsula Dr., Daytona Beach Shores FL, with Rev. Dr. Jeff Sumner officiating. Burial will be held later that day at Woodland Cemetery in Port Orange, FL.
