He was a Scout Master for Troop 361 and taught cub scouts BB Gun training. Roy loved hunting, fishing and anything to do with the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and going out to eat with his wife. He was a master craftsman who could make anything with his hands. He was well known for helping anybody in need and was loved by all.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy Windham McBride; children: Chelsea, Holly, Cory and Colton McBride; sister: Patricia “Sissy” Pope and brothers: Ronald, Gearld and Mitchal McBride.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 22, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home with military honors under the auspices of Calhoun County Veterans Joint Honor Guard.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ronnie Beem, David Dykes and Grady Newton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family at 1st Convenience Bank in HEB in Port Lavaca to the Roy McBride/Wendy McBride Memorial fund.
