Robert Ray Collins, 97, of Port Lavaca passed away October 26, 2017. He was born March 1, 1920, in Kerens, TX to the late Robert Quillen and Lillie Dell Sain Collins. He was a Mechanic for Alcoa and served in the US Air Corps during WWII. Robert was a member of the Masonic Lodge and VFW Post 4403.
He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Evelyn Collins; son, Dwayne Collins and wife, Ruby of Port Lavaca; 5 grandchildren, Hannah Collins of Port Lavaca, Michael Collins of Portland, OR, Tony Collins of Shiner, Brent Jones of Austin and Aron Collins of CA and one great-grandson, Ace Collins of Portland, OR.
He was preceded in death by his son, Quillen Collins; parents and sister, Faye Smith.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, October 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Johnny Kisiah officiating. Interment will follow in Six Mile Cemetery with Military Honors under the auspices of the Calhoun County Veterans Joint Honor Guard.
Pallbearers are Michael Collins, Tony Collins, Brent Jones, James Lee, James Hebel and Tony Robertson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dwayne Collins and Hannah Collins.
