Paul Douglas Corrick, 61, passed away peacefully on March 23 after a valiant six year battle with cancer. He was born on November 26, 1963 in Washington, D. C., but lived most of his life as a proud Texan.
Paul graduated from Calhoun High School in 1981, attended Texas A&M, and then spent three years in the Navy, where he served on the aircraft carrier the USS Coral Sea. His talent for engineering then led him to his career as a designer and producer of hydraulic air conditioners for large equipment.
His first love was his family, and he was never happier that when everyone was together enjoying his boat, waterskiing and fishing, the hill country cabin, or on trips he meticulously planned. A close second love was his Harley, and he and Betsy had wonderful adventures riding cross country. He lived life to the fullest.
Paul is survived by his wife, Sallie “Betsy” Corrrick and her children, Sarah Benazzouz and Zachary Benazzouz (Jonelle), and his daughter Amanda Wynn (Taylor) and her children, Nolan and Remi. He is also survived by his mother, Linda Ward, his sister, Kim Smith and his brother Don Corrick.
He was predeceased by his dad, Sidney Ward and his step-brothers, Richard Ward and Sidney Ward, Jr.
Services will be held at a later date at Corpus Christi Veterans Cemetery where he will receive full military honors.
If you wish memorials may be sent to the Calhoun County Humane Society, PO Box 1505, Pt. Lavaca, Tx or Lighthouse Global Methodist Church, Pt. Lavaca, Tx.
