Marie E. Willmann, 97, of Port Lavaca passed away June 8, 2015. She was born June 7, 1918 in Port Lavaca to the late Robert and Selma Wehmeyer Duelberg. She was a piano teacher, played the organ for Salem Lutheran Church and was instrumental in founding the local Association for Retarded Citizens. She helped with the 4-H Club when her children were growing up. She also supported the American Field Service Student Exchange Program and was very interested and active in politics as a citizen. She was a full 20 years ahead of the Natural and Organic Food Movement and was an excellent cook.
She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Voigt and husband, Friedrich of Germany and by her sons, R. Robert Willmann Jr. of San Antonio and Port Lavaca and David John Willmann of Port Lavaca.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph R. Willmann and by her parents.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday, June 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
