Guadalupe “Lupe” Flores Jr., 81, of Port Lavaca passed away May 15, 2024. He was born December 1, 1942 in Alice, TX to Guadalupe Flores Sr. and Inez Garcia Flores. Lupe served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion in Calhoun County. He was Captain of the Reserves in Port Lavaca and Lieutenant at the Port Lavaca Police Department. Lupe retired from Alcoa where he worked as the superintendent of the maintenance department and was a past president of the Alcoa 25 year club. He was also a Past Master and Knights Templar at Port Lavaca Masonic Lodge #36.
Lupe is survived by his wife, Debra Flores; daughters, Roxanne Boultinghouse (Jim), Angela Ledesma (Xavier), and Valerie Requenez; step-daughter, Amanda Horrocks (Brandon); step-son, Joshua Christenberry (Claudine); and grandchildren, Brandon, Hayden, Daniel, Kaden, Ava, Kaylee, Evan, Jasmine,Carsten, Tatum, J.D., Savanah, Chandler and Deacon.
Lupe was preceded in death by his first wife, Nena & parents.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 from 6-7 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home followed by a rosary at 7. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Port Lavaca Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of the Calhoun County Veterans Joint Honor Guard.
Pallbearers are Gerald “Bubba” Hoffman, Grover Grant, Royce Smith, Greg Falcon, George Hernandez, and Stockton “Mick” Quirey.
