Linda K. Hermenitt, 66, of Port Lavaca passed away December 6, 2023. She was born on February 9, 1957 at the Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska to Arthur Hermenitt and Joanne Corey Hernandez. Linda loved spending time working on arts and crafts and drawing. She would frequent the Heritage Center many times a week and enjoyed her time spent there – especially when she was winning BINGO on a regular basis. Linda had a heart the size of Texas and she never met a stranger. She was known to talk to anyone and everyone she could manage and they would become instant friends. This wasn’t only with people – she had the same knack with animals as well! She was a true “animal whisperer”, loving all animals and they all loved her just as much. Linda was a member of New Beginnings and was very strong in her faith.
She is survived by her daughter; Ruby Sterling (Jerry); sons, Scott Loney (Lori Rendon Loney) and Frank Loney Jr. (Melanie); father, Arthur Hermenitt; sisters, Karen Ferguson (Martin), Nancy Fischer (Dale), Shelly Beard, Angela Hermenitt, and Theresa Ruiz (Tito); grandchildren, Courtney Bucheger, Nikole Loney, Scott Loney II, Elijah Loney, Elina Loney, Dominik Becker, Kourtney Mahar, Selena Mahar; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel Delgado, Nikolas Carr, and one more on the way.
She was preceded in death by her companion, Rodney Thorpe; mother Joanne Corey Hernandez; and brother, Arthur Hermenitt.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. A celebration of Linda’s life will follow the visitation at 5 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Steve Martin officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers are William Savage, Steven Savage, Jay Ferguson, Justin Ferguson, Dominik Becker, and Elijah Loney.
