Jesus is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Maria G. Guajardo and children, Gerardo “Jerry” and his wife Alicia, Ofelia Cordova and her husband Eddie, and Oralia Muñoz and her husband Raynaldo. Grieving grandchildren include: Sara Elizabeth and Natalie Theresa Guajardo, Alexa Brooke, Adriel Brien, and Andri Bianca Cordova, Marinda Rae Navarro and husband Jay, Aaron David and Lauren Kae Muñoz, and one great grandson, Jaden Uriah Navarro. Jesus will also be cherished by extended family members and friends who knew and loved him for his quiet, kind demeanor and shy smile.
He is preceded in death by his parents and five siblings- Ruperto, Juan and Celia Guajardo, Elvira Garza and Carlota Quintanilla.
In his younger years, Jesus worked in agriculture, followed by many years with King Fisher Marine Service and lastly with Calhoun County ISD. He retired in 2003. He was a hardworking man and a good family provider. He loved playing games and spending time with his family. He was an usher and a member of the Sacred Heart Society at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends beginning at 4 p.m. followed by the praying of the Rosary at 7 on Monday, December 5, 2011 at Richardson Colonial Funeral Home. A funeral Mass at 10 a.m., to be officiated by Father Ty Bazar, will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Internment at Greenlawn Garden will immediately follow Mass.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Refugio Manor Nursing Facility. Dr. Nestor Praderio in particular was very patient and kind.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that a donation in Jesus Guajardo’s memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
