Jerry Howard McClendon

Jerry Howard McClendon, age 85, of Port Lavaca, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 10am at Alamo Heights Baptist Church, with memorial services following at 11am.

Jerry was born November 14, 1938 in Waco, Texas to the late J. Howard McClendon and Mary King McClendon. He served in the United States Army. He worked at Alcoa until his retirement. After he retired, he became a hospital and nursing home volunteer and worked at Richardson Colonial as a funeral assistant. He was a proud member of the Lions Club, VFW, American Legion, Calhoun County Veterans Council, CalCom Federal Credit Union and Alamo Heights Baptist Church.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Phyllis McClendon; sons, Mike McClendon (Lisa) and Roger McClendon; sister, Barbara Gibson; grandchildren Jennifer, Jacob, Ariane and Dylan and great-grandson, Liam Brooks. Jerry also leaves behind niece, nephews and a multitude of friends he has made along the way.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, J. Howard McClendon; mother, Mary King McClendon; and sister, Peggy Burchett.
