Harrell F. Dumas, born April 30, 1921 in Genoa, TX., died peacefully March 18, 2018 at Twin Pines North, Victoria, TX. Harrell earned his BBA degree from the University of Houston in 1943. He served in the Naval Reserve in WWII as an ensign in a P.T. boat squadron in the Pacific. After he returned to the states, he married Emma Jean Cobb of Houston, TX. He began a marine sales and service business in Harris County and continued it until he retired and moved to Port O’Connor in 1982. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening with his wife Emma Jean throughout their retirement years.
Harrell F. was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Dumas and sisters, Johnelle White and Lorene Waters of Houston.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Emma Jean; their daughter, Susan Dumas of Boerne, TX; son, John Dumas of Port O’Connor, TX; nieces, Mrs. Kristen Moore (Bruce), Ms. Camille Waters, and nephew, Brent Waters (Cindy.)
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Port O’Connor Cemetery with Pastor Marcos Gohlke officiating. Flag Presentation will be provided by the Calhoun County Veterans Joint Honor Guard.
