Gary is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rosemary McBride; sister, Carol Sue Barnett and husband, Charles; 4 children: sons, Troy McBride and Robert “Bobby” Charles Jahn, and daughters, Mary Kay Jahn and Francine Jahn Price and husband, Mike. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
He is survived by 9 grandchildren; Troy McBride Jr. and wife, Brook; Cheryl Jahn Sims and husband, Jason; Brandon Fulghum and Benjamin Fulghum; Cody Price and wife, Sarah; Jolene Price Barnett and husband, Joshua; Dusty Price and Christian Lopez; and 8 great-grandchildren: Amiyah, Bentley, Temperance, Leah, Penelope. Luke, Lux, and Cailen.
He was an avid sportsman who loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed the beauty of nature. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Point Comfort. Gary joined the United States Navy and served his country with honorable and distinctive service from 1964-1970 as an Underwater Demolition Expert, known at that time as “Frogmen”. This elite group of soldiers were the start of what is now called the United States Navy “Seals”.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and daughters, Aleene English Lynnette.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca, TX.
