Elizabeth Harding Grubbs, 73, of Port Lavaca passed away June 24, 2021. She was born March 27, 1948 in Abilene to Arthur and Dorothy Mae Harding. She was a retired teacher from Calhoun County ISD where she taught P.E., Math, Art, but teaching dyslexic children was her passion. She was a member of the Church of Christ and taught children there and made many VBS puppet stages along with the decorations. She was a wonderful artist painting all of the murals at HJM Elementary along with her daughter and grandchildren. As most of you know her grandchildren and great grandchild were the center of her world.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Purcell; daughter, Kendra Douglas; step-daughter, Tamala Murk; sisters, Belinda Kimball and Cynthia Schnittjer (Tim); brother, Fletcher Harding (Sherlyn); grandchildren, Ashleigh Persilver, Tyler Persilver, Marla Murk, Kaitlynn Harnicky (Kyle), Sierra Douglas, Kyleigh Douglas, and Calvin Douglas; and great-grandson, Austin Bates.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin Grubbs; step-daughter, Ginny Persilver; and her parents.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday, July 2, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Port Lavaca Church of Christ with Shan Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens.
Pallbearers are Calvin Douglas, Kyle Harnicky, Tyler Persilver, Ernest Yanez, Aaron Kimball, and Justin Kimball.
