Don Williams, 90, of Port Lavaca passed away July 22, 2017. He was born July 9, 1927 in Richland, TX to Clyde Lane and Ola Wells Williams. Don joined the US Navy during High School and served in WWII. After his discharge from the Navy he attended the San Antonio Art Institute. He worked for Exxon for 39 years and his fondest memories were working as a roughneck in the oil fields of South Texas. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Port Lavaca.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Paula Greeson Williams; daughter, Elisa Barry (Patrick) of Houston; son, Ken Williams (Corinne Nikles) of Corpus Christi; daughter-in-law, Brenda Williams of Houston and grandchildren, Buck and Jordan Williams, Ty and Sully McGowen, Patrick Barry IV, Charlie and Gilly Nikles.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brad Williams; parents; and grandson, Cole McGowen.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church.
