D.C. Qualls, 78 of Port Lavaca passed away September 29, 2016. He was born November 3, 1937 in Wichita Falls to the late Walter Jackson and Mary Madge Morris Qualls. He was an I.E. Technician for Alcoa and served in the Army Reserves for 6 years. D.C. was known to have called himself a “Jack of all trades and master of none”. He worked as a Dredgehand, Tankerman and Merchant Marine Diver. He was a lover of history, a car enthusiast and an avid reader and gun collector.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Gayle Hall-Gonzales and JoAnn Qualls Marek; sister, Frances LaVerne Laake and 2 grandchildren, Matthew Wayne Geryk and Hannah Marie Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Eloise Ernestine Tillery, Sybil Lorena LaQuay and Wanda Jean Boller and brother, Sealy Lewis Qualls.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home.
