not running around kissing and telling like some others on here but he is gravely missed the Boardy Barn was never the same. working out at the health club was never the same...etc etc...

We only worked together for a short time but in that time you taught me so much about the industry and life. I think of you time to time still and at times I wish I could pick up the phone for advice because I miss our morning touch bases while you always had your oatmeal or you helping me pick out sneakers for my boyfriend because you were so good at that stuff and a real true "sneaker head". I remember the stories you would tell me about your kids and how proud they made you. Even after you left, we kept in touch and we always would look out for one another in this industry, I will never understand why god took you so soon but know you are sorely missed Paul. Each time I am out , I hear  that one song that you always told me reminded you of someone special and for that brief moment, I think it is a sign from you. RIP xo

A year ago tomorrow and it's still so very hard to believe you have passed.
The twins are doing Great (all things considered of course). They both thrived in their first year of Middle School.
Morgan was an A+ student and Gav not far behind.
Gav is doing better than ever at Lacrosse he is playing hard and with greater confidence.
You would be VERY proud  of them!!
I have yet to even remotely come to an understanding of death....the fragility of life and the finality of death....
I'm writing this with the hope that you somehow will see it and know that  you are thought of and sorely missed!

I worked with Paul for less than a year but even in this brief time, his personality really shone. He was always the life of the party (which I am sure you all know is typical Paul!) For this busy, active man, it struck me how family oriented he remained. As much as he spoke about his busy exciting active life style, he spoke just as happily about his kids and their activities. I am sure this man with this outstanding personality will never be forgotten.

To My Beloved Son Paul, I have not written any words yet as I am having a very hard time without you,my beautiful son. It has been 3 months since you have gone to be with the Lord. I don`t know what to say except that I am still in disbelief and in shock that you are no longer with us. You were the most healthiest man I knew, you had a zest for life with a contagious smile and laugh.You were a wonderful son,you were always loving and respectful to me. I was always so very proud of you and all your accomplishments.I thank you for your 2 beautiful children Gavin & Morgan as they will always be a part of you that I will always love and cherish.I promise to keep all of the wonderful memories that we have of you alive. To Paul's wife I don't know you personally, but I would like to give you my apologies for your great loss as your twins also. Paul as you knew him was a great guy, but I don't have to tell you. I just wanted to thank you for keeping this open to people like me who are still in disbelief that he is gone, I am from the pit of my heart so sorry for you and your children my prayers are on the daily for your hearts to find peace with this terrible loss. I'm so saddened to learn of Paul's passing.  To family and loved ones, he was special and I'm sure I don't have to tell you that. I went to college with Paul at SUNY Cortland, we never saw each other after our years there. But... I never forgot him. I remember picking him up one night with a bunch of us when he was pledging, he was beyond appreciative. I also remember a bunch of us were taking care of him when he had the flu and his Mom sent us a box of chocolates. He had a zest for life and he was a sweet human being, God will keep him close. I will say prayers for him and all his loved ones. I'm so sorry for your loss! I'm sure if there is a way which I believe there is, Paul will be watching over and protecting all the people that he so dearly loved. Be looking for his sweet signs. Love and peace

My husband and I met you only once after the Belmont Stakes this year through our mutual friend, Zach. You made us laugh and we enjoyed stories around the love of our children. Just Following My Tribute to Paul over FaceBook , In prayer i asked Paul to send me what is called a "God Wink". A Sign. I walked up to the corner hot dog vender and purchased a bottle of coke and drank it. I than tossed it into the corner garbage pail. I missed it as the bottle just nicked the rim. Not to be looked upon as the litter bug I retrieved the bottle from the street. Upon picking the bottle up i took note of the "god wink". This sent a chill down my spine. This was a comforting sign and a powerful message.. As you see some bottles are worth saving and refilling.To my surprise the Bottle came with a personal touch.The Bottle is labeled "Share a Coke with Paul". For the one day that I worked with Paul at Coca Cola For me this "God Wink" has great meaning and reinforces Paul"s message in life. "Live your life to the fullest"  ; )

We met Paul, Morgan and Gavin for a few New Year's in Antigua. We played volleyball with him, spent New Year with him and his family and thoroughly enjoyed his company.  We are so shocked of his untimely death and even though we are miles away our hearts go out to his Mum and children.  Our thoughts are with you all and we will never forget Paul.

Paul. We only met once. At last years Killington Ski Trip with Mark Timperio, Dom, Chicken, Roark, Adam, Troy, Wolffie, and the rest of the crew. It was my first one with the group.  I took a liking to you right away. I could tell you were a genuine guy. I remember talking to you about your job and your kids and how much they meant to you. I know they will miss you dearly as will the rest of your family and friends. I don't look forward to it, but I know we are going to go back to Killington this year and we will all be thinking about you and will be wishing you were there. We will drink a toast to your memory and crush Patsy's run, hopefully in some powder which I hope you will deliver for us! R.I.P.

My deepest condolences and prayers for Paul and his entire family . Paul was one of the warmest  and kindest people in our industry.  He loved his children deeply and shared that with those around him.  Our hearts are broken  . May he rest in peace .

On a cold day back in November in 1995 Paulie Jake as we knew him scored what be the lone goal in a 1-0 victory in a major dek hockey tournament. For those of you who don't know, dek hockey is a silly game in which men chase a ball around on foot. Paul didn't play with us for very long but he did have an impact. To my recollection that could very well have been his last tournament with us and maybe even his last ever. When we heard of his passing this weekend the handful of us who were currently at a dek hockey tournament all these years later had a sense of a loss of a man who was good at what he did no matter what it was. I am sure I do not know him even half as much as most who have posted today but I can tell you I personally can not find anyone who did not feel sick when they heard the news regardless of how short of time they may have been in his company.

Rest in peace my friend.  I will always remember your great smile and positive energy that you always shared.  You will be missed by all who knew you.

Paul, thank you for all the laughs and good times on our annual boys ski trip to Vermont. You were always the first one down the mountain and the last one off the mountain at the end of the day. Your beard would be covered in ice. Rest Easy my friend. - Roark

It was only for a short time that Paul and I were acquaintances, yet he left me with a long lasting impression. One which I will never forget. No words can describe the emptiness one feels with the absence of Paul. Paul lived his life to the fullest. He did hold back. He brought this vigor wherever he went and made every one realize how precious it was. Paul is in good hands now, with his creator. God bless his whole family at this time. I have been friends with Diane, his mother,  since Paul was 4 months old.  He was such a beautiful little boy who grew up to be beautiful man.  He was everything a mother could ask for in a son.  She was so proud of him and his accomplishments in life.  Rest in Peace Paul.  You will always be remembered but never forgotten.

I met Paul when I was just 17 years old and I was working at the gym he used to go to. We became fast friends. He was one of those people who I didn't have to see or speak to all the time, but I knew he was always there. From Long Island, both of us then went on and moved to NYC and continued our friendship through the years. We even lived on the same street for awhile. His zest for life was contagious... he was always onto the next adventure. I could barely keep up with all his stories, there were always so many of them and they were always so entertaining. He always reached out to check in and see how I was doing and always gave me great advice when I needed it. We shared so many laughs and a lot of wonderful memories throughout the 22 years that I have known him. There are a bunch of songs that whenever I hear, I immediately think of Paul. One that keeps popping into my head is 'Higher State of Consciousness' by Josh Wink. I would like to believe that he is in a higher state of consciousness right now. I am so heartbroken by this loss and cannot begin to imagine the grief that his family and children are enduring at this time. My heart goes out to all of you. Sending lots of prayers and love.

My memory  of Paul is  limited  to  our high school  years and the many mutual  friends  we shared. That being said, I  never heard or spoke a negative  word of this man. Every encounter  was friendly  and warm. From the outside ,  he seemed to be one the real good guys who lived to the best of his capabilities . I was saddened to hear the news last night. Paul has not been a part of my life the past 25yrs. but was a big influence in my early childhood up until my family moved away when I was 10yrs. old. I'd like to think he knew how much I looked up to him, how I idolized him, how he helped shape the foundation of the person I am today. For a teenager to "put up with" the little kid next door, always wanting to ask him questions, help work on his bike, just bug the heck out of him. It takes a kind person to be that tolerant of a little guy. I wish I had the same patience for my own kids as he showed me as one. From what I have heard he continued to grow into a good person; a good man. I wish I could have told him this. Life is a bunch of wishes. He was a wish come true to those who's lives he touched. My thoughts are with his family, his friends, and all those who will miss him. Thank you for having been a positive part of my life. Thank you, Paul. May you enjoy whatever the world has for you beyond us.

Well I don't know where to begin I'm still in a state of shock, I dated Paul in high school for a short time kept in touch through face book. It's such a loss for everyone who knows him my regards go to his family and children. I am very very sorry for your loss.

This is beyond sad.. I really can't believe it. I haven't known Paul for that long but it really only takes two seconds to know what a special and great person he was. Every time I've hung out with him he was always the most alive person in the room. I saw him two weeks ago at Soho House and we were laughing, joking, taking shots and having so much fun. His positive energy was so contagious on everyone around him. It's so hard to believe he's gone. R.I.P Paul . My heart goes out to his family and children.

I remember the day he and his moved in the house next to ours and all the girls in the neighborhood were swooning over this young man. He was incredibly handsome, even back then. He, Doug, and my brothers would tear around the neighborhood on their bikes.  Not too mention the many races in the park.  God keep watch over his family.

Thinking of Paul Jacobsen ( Paul the Model ).In 1986 a young man with model looks named Paul Jacobsen approached me at the front door of Carrington's Bar / Restaurant of Stony Brook. With no openings I found it hard to say no. I immediately created a job and put him to work on the spot. Paul's position was to monitor the stairwell entrance to the upper level night club. Once the club filled to capacity Paul went into action . It was one person out one person in. With his good looks this was a difficult task. Paul found it difficult as one person would exit he would schmooze a group females in. Within time Paul "Mr Likeable" was know as Paul the model. I Placed him at the front door as a greeter. He was a magnet and his looks and personality drew the crowds. The thing is Paul never saw himself as being a model. In the early 1990's i explained to Paul that I will be placing him in a bartenders position on Tuesday Free Beer night. Paul replied back to me "I dont't know how to bartend. I said to Paul "can you crack open a bottle of beer?. Paul answered "Yes". I certified him on the spot a bartender. On the opening night his first customer walked in . Paul took his order and turned to me and asked me "What goes in a gin and tonic ? " ( LOL ). His knowledge of the bar kicked in and with his looks he captivated his Suffolk County audience. His overall character was a key and a factor to the overall success of The Business. He may have lacked intital bartending skills However I believed in him and the success that would follow in his wake. In 1998 Paul returned the favor. Paul being an executive for the Coca-Cola Corporation expedited my application to oversee Coca -Cola merchandising for the Hamptons. On my first day working for Coca-Cola it would be memorable as it would be Paul's last day working for Coca-Cola. As i and Paul were in a Hamptons supermarket a man turned to Paul and asked him to reach for a bottle of diet coke. Paul reached and handed The man his bottle of coke. The Man explained to Paul that he has Model Looks and that he is in need of Models. That man was Giorgio Armani. Paul Quit and left me hanging down a supermarket isle.The rest is History. My Friend Paul became a rising star for The Giorgio Armani Corporation. I recently ran into Paul The model in NYC on his April Fools Birthday. He said "Bill you have Friends and you have true friends and Bill Your a true friend". Paul Thank you for being my "True Friend ".
