Michael Barbara passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on September 23, 2020. He was born on April 19, 1929 and he grew up in Brooklyn, NY. His parents, Michael and Maria came to the U.S. from Italy. He was the youngest of nine siblings, all of whom are deceased. He moved to Amityville, NY and lived there for 60 years while raising his family. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Marianne Barbara. He is survived by his children Marie Meyer and Michael Barbara. He was adored by his grandchildren Jennifer Drake (Scott), Heather Morrison (Kyle), Jeffrey Meyer (Shena), and Gina Barbara. He was blessed with great grandchildren Connor and Kayden Drake, Nathan, Sawyer, and Juliet Meyer, and Jack Morrison. Recently, he was loved by his companion of several years, Josie Galia. He had many friends and extended family all of whom he treasured and enjoyed visiting. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a hardworking man who loved to travel, eat out, and dance.
