Mary A. D'Angelo, of Aquebogue, NY, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, with her beloved daughters by her side. Born on March 21, 1934, in Queens, NY, Mary lived a life full of love, warmth, and dedication to her family and community.
Mary was the devoted wife of the late Angelo S. D'Angelo, with whom she shared nearly 66 beautiful years of marriage. She was the cherished mother of Debra Jones (John), Karen Hokanson, and the late Ronald D'Angelo. Her role as grandmother brought her immense joy, and she was deeply loved by her grandchildren, Jennifer (Celal), Danielle (Kyle), Jesse (Marlette), Samantha, and Lucas (Gabriella). Mary’s legacy also lives on through her adored great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Maya, Zaiden, Maxwell, Leo, and Meric. She was the dear sister of the late Teresa "Tessie" Gallo and Peter Ferrero.
Mary's greatest joy was spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for baking, crocheting, and relaxing at the beach. A talented medical assistant, Mary had an intuitive understanding of medicine, prompting her daughters to often remark that she could have been an exceptional nurse.
The holidays were especially meaningful to Mary, with Christmas being her favorite time of year. She loved bringing her family together, filling her home with laughter, love, and delicious food.
A visitation to honor Mary will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 3–7 PM at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Infant Jesus Chapel at St. Charles, 200 Belle Terre Road, Port Jefferson, NY. Cremation will be private.
Mary will be remembered for her boundless love, kindness, and the joy she brought to those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
