Margaret M. Laudenback “Marge”, of Port Jefferson Station, NY, passed away on December 6, 2024, at the age of 101. Born on August 28, 1923, in Queens, NY, Margaret lived a life full of joy, love, and cherished memories.
Margaret was the devoted wife of the late Arthur C. Laudenback. and the loving mother of the late Peter. She was a proud and loving nanny to her grandsons, Peter (Victoria) and Michael (Meghan), and an adored great-nanny to Matthew, Michael, and Mikayla. Her unwavering love and dedication to her family and friends were the cornerstone of her long and fulfilling life.
Margaret “Maggs” shared a special friendship that began in Middle Village, Queens over 60 years ago with Marie Maggio, an indescribable bond that brought her immense joy and comfort. Her kind heart and cheerful spirit made her a beloved member of her community, where she lived for the last decade at The Ranches in Port Jefferson Station. Margaret was known for her beautiful singing voice, hearty laugh, and radiant smile that could light up any room.
A lover of life and laughter, Margaret found joy in the simple pleasures. She cherished her weekly poker games at the clubhouse, along with trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas for a little gambling fun. Her home was always immaculate, reflecting her pride and care, and her hair was always styled to perfection. She delighted in celebrating and decorating for every holiday, making her home a warm and festive gathering place for family and friends.
Margaret will be remembered as the sweetest and kindest soul, a woman who brought happiness to everyone around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and treasured memories.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Infant Jesus Chapel at St. Charles, 200 Belle Terre Road, Port Jefferson, NY 11777. Interment to follow at Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
Margaret’s laughter, kindness, and unwavering positivity will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
