Elaine Mary Delaney

Elaine Mary Delaney, age 73, of Sound Beach, New York, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Beloved mother of her three daughters, Meghan, Kara, and Caitlin. Elaine’s ultimate pride and joy were her five grandchildren, Jackson, Addison, Emerson, Aiden and Spencer. Cherished sister to Joan Trieste, Nancy Farina, James Trieste, and Kathleen DelGrande. Elaine is predeceased by siblings Robert Trieste and Mary McNaughton.

Elaine was best known for her passion for teaching and love of history. After 35 years as a respected educator in both Comsewogue and Port Jefferson School Districts, Elaine touched the lives of many students and continued to educate long after her retirement. She was committed to lifelong learning and could often be found with her nose in a book, always eager to share what she learned with others. Elaine loved nothing more than playing with her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to selflessly help others.

Visitations for Elaine will be held Sunday, November 19, 2023 and Monday, November 20, 2023 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Hwy, Port Jefferson Station, New York 11776. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at St Louis de Montfort R.C. Church, at 11:00 A.M., 75 New York Avenue, Sound Beach, New York 11789.
