She was the cherished wife of Martin for 66 wonderful years, sharing a love that served as an inspiration to all who knew them. Barbara was a loving mother to Jeff (Maria), Mitch, Rich, and the late Steven, nurturing her family with warmth and kindness. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Jennifer, Matthew, Andrew, Kara, Courtney, Jessica, Michael, Don, and Antonio, as well as her adored great-grandchildren: Colton, Grace, Mason, Evie, and Donald.. Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense joy in being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Barbara was not just a homemaker; she also enjoyed working alongside Martin at his stationery store and smoke shop. More than a job, it was a social hub for her, as she loved connecting with customers and making new friends. Her warmth and engaging personality made her a beloved figure in the community.
Travel was another passion of Barbara's. She looked forward to trips to Las Vegas, drawn not just by the allure of the casinos but by the excitement and sights the city had to offer. She also cherished her visits to Atlantic City.
In her later years, Barbara found joy in her friendships at the senior club, where she loved to socialize and play Mahjong, fostering a sense of camaraderie among her peers.
Barbara Hirsch will be remembered for her kindness, her lively spirit, and the deep love she shared with her family and friends. Her legacy of love and connection will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A visitation for Barbara will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 10-11:30 AM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. Prayer service at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Committal service and interment to follow at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 North Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY 11704.
