Sorry to hear of Bob's passing.  Someone said, and I believe that "loved ones do not make our lives, but loving them does; and death cannot take that away from us."  I share this thought with Bob's family and hope that you will be comforted.

Knowing the Scott family for only a short time it takes even less time to realize you are part of something that seems rare in today's institution we call family, at first glance you become entranced and extremely curious, then it quickly absorbs you like a sponge as it consumes you with everything you dreamed of as a child into adulthood about that "perfect family" image you only heard of, or maybe read in a book or saw on the big screen, the love and respect for one another, the daily phone calls and visits between sister and brother or parent and child if only to inquire about the days events, the children who acted more like brothers and sisters then cousins, the annual "tree day" "experience", the Sunday dinners,   the Super Bowl party's and the trips to Old Forge are just a sample of such memorable events that one had to take part in to truly appreciate the unique bond that evolved from Diane and Robert's blend of true family values.

But even these events were mere practice for what is truly the Olympics of all the Scott family outings, for this momentous occasion required an even bigger stage, one rich with tradition and heritage, an event one could easily get lost within the stories passed down from generation to generation, this stage was commonly known as "the river", and this place of sheer beauty and tranquility forged even stronger bonds within this family that few (if any) outside the circle could comprehend, and at the center of this circle was a man who was truly the rock this family leaned on regardless if the seas got rough or as calm and smooth as glass, a man who would tell you himself the mold was broken after he was pieced together from the same fabric as Wayne and Eastwood, A man who could give you an order, ask you a question or give you advice with a simple look that you completely understood, a straight shooter and one who could judge a man effectively by a quick shake  of the hand and a casual once-over, a man tough as nails who could break sweat from sunrise to sundown and still ask for more, a man who's selfless acts of kindness can be felt coast to coast, never judging, always willing to lend an ear or make you laugh a man who would open his doors to anyone regardless of where you you had been or where you were going.

Robert will always have a special place of his own in my heart, my thoughts and my memories, he will always be more than just a man in my eyes, perhaps a legend is more fitting a description.

Thanks pops for all you did and continue to do for us all, you will always be with us whether it's at the Sunday table, "tree day" Old Forge and of course the river where your presence will always be felt. Maybe one day I will bring you that dam tool you asked for the first time.

As everyone's life's go on, I sit here in disbelief that you are gone. The pain and emptiness I feel is indescribable and sometimes unbearable. I look at your "In Memory" card and think to myself, when will I wake up from this nightmare, then reality hits me that I will in fact never hear your voice again and never see your handsome smile. So I close my eyes Dad and I think of you and I hear your voice and see your face. I kiss your forehead and tell you once again that I am so proud to be your daughter and I will love you every minute of every day for the rest of my life, which is what I said to you when I said goodbye.  Joey and I were so sad when we heard of Binghamton Bob's passing. We all adored him and of course laughter always surrounded him. When we were at the TI Club he was our favorite customer! Always a joke or some funny  story about his grand kids and family. He was so proud of ALL of you! You were always his topic of conversation. When the sun rises and sets in the Lake of the Isles we will toast our friend and smile with grace and joy in our hearts remembering our Binghamton Bob!

To all of you who loved Bob so much,,,As I write these words..I find there are no words to express my sentiments and sorrow for your family..I find myself thinking of you all so many times during the day and when Im up at night for whatever the reason..I just continue in my prayer for strength for all of you as you move forward without his physical presence in your lives.  As was stated at his funeral service...we don't have to say goodbye....that was consoling for me because our faith tells us that we will be together again...until then Bob will live in each and everyone of you through whatever his special gifts were to you..You have an amazing family...he was so proud of each and every one of you..and as you know did whatever he could to lighten your load...His special gift to me was his incredible off the cuff one liners  that would put me under the bus..when I tell you that our trip to Italy was the best...yeas Italy was beautiful..but the company was even better...Your Mom and Dad were a comedy team that was unmatched..we laughed for sixteen days..we have had many special occcasions in our life but that will go down as one of the best...still see your Dad after many wines before dinner thinking he could now talk Italian with the best..Diane of course was in disagreement..Im feeling very sad today as I still try to grapple with thoughts of his passsing,but I believe that when that time of our particular sunset comes he will be right there to welcome all those he loved with open arms...with a Cortese pizza, a Manhattan, music with a Rumba beat, a new boat for the greatest cottage on the greatest lake wondering why we were so sad when he was in fact with us through it all...He is as close as your heartbeat.....Diane and Tony Stento

   I am very sorry for your loss.  I am very thankful to have had the privelage and opportunity to know Mr. Scott.  I will always appreciate the many sacrafices he made for the youth. I could write for hours about what a man Bob was. So many words can be applied to such a great man. Loyal, dedicated, friendly, generous, loving, caring, skilled, compassionate, passionate, vivacious, charming...and I could go on. Bob came into my life exactly when I needed a man of his caliber. Bob was a senior firefighter at E-4 when I was assigned there as a raw, scared rookie who didn't know a soul on the department and didn't know much about firefighting. He took me under his wing and showed me the ropes (literally and figuratively). He always treated me with respect and dignity and looked out for me. If I can be half the man he was I'll have lived a good life. All our love and sympathy.
