John R. Spadaro, 86, of Kirkwood passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Pearl (Pannell) Norella Spadaro; siblings, Chrystina (Frank) Fulmer, Margaret (Joseph) Dombroski; parents-in-law, Frank and Anna Malinich; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Juanita Malinich; Lt Col. (Ret) Paul P. and Olga Belchyk, Walter and Julie Solyan, George R. Malinich; nephew, William J. Malinich; niece, Donna J. Ross. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Vera Malinich Spadaro; daughter, Debra A. and Thomas Jenkinson; son, John B. and Mary Spadaro; He was Papa to his beloved grandsons, Michael Aaron and Ana Jenkinson and John Andrew Jenkinson; nieces, Joan and Francis Scrocarelli, Mary and George Adkisson, Phyllis Dombroski and Jean Dombroski, Kathie A. and Mitch Rzodski, Darlene J. Malinich, Tammy and Earl Hill, Paulette M. Solyan, Lara and Bruno Mangiarelli, Demetra and Dante and Neena Malinich; nephews, Mark Solyan, Tim and Maryann Solyan, Alexander and Karen Malinich, Keaton, Kameron and Kristian Malinich and Wallace Baker; brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Mary Malinich, Frank and Marsha Malinich and Faith Malinich. John proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged as a Sgt. He retired from Links after 37 years of service. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening and making and flying model airplanes. He even made an engine one time out of an orange juice can. He loved music, played the piano and enjoyed gospel hymns throughout his life. He enjoyed traveling after retirement and was proud of the fact that he built his own home. John loved nature, animals, flowers and time spent outdoors riding his lawn mower. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 12-2 pm at the Wm. R Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson. A funeral and committal service will begin at 2:00 pm. Entombment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery at a later time.
