George was born and raised in Mt. Carmel, PA. He was an Army Veteran, serving from 1960 to 1962. He worked as a Union Sheet metal mechanic for 44+ years. After retirement, he worked hard doing “side jobs” especially for the elderly.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Sharon of 46+ years. He is also survived by a loving, caring son, Timothy and wife, Karie who he adored and loved dearly. He was also well loved by his sweet and wonderful grandchildren, Genevieve and Gavin. He is also survived by his loving and caring daughter, Kathleen who he absolutely adored; her husband David and granddaughter, Amelia. He is also survived by a daughter Tracey Dowling, a son, Kevin and several other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was a member of New Fellowship Church in Endicott, NY. George was a devoted husband, father, and Pop-Pop. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards and painting. George was an incredible father and husband, and was always a steady constant in the lives of his family. He was an incredibly knowledgeable man, and was always willing to share that knowledge and teach his family.
George was VERY proud of his family and very devoted to his children, Timothy and Kathleen and their families. He enjoyed every minute of family time and always loved playing with his sweet/precious grandchildren, Genevieve and Gavin. He absolutely adored his furry companions, Kailey, Moose, and Ollie. He had a very soft place in his heart for animals.
The family would like to extend a huge heart-felt thank you to all of the staff at Wilson Hospital North Tower 2, the palliative care team and the hospice team. George and the family are extremely grateful for the amazing, compassionate care he was given.
Heaven is shining brighter as it gains a true angel and servant of God. The memories will forever live in our hearts and souls. We raise our hands as he joins his Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
A Celebration of Life will be offered by Pastor James Ramsey at New Fellowship Church, 1600 Tracy Street, Endicott, NY, on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 1pm. A buffet dinner will be offered following the Celebration of Life in the fellowship hall of the church.
