and cherished member of the Hillcrest community, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by Patricia, his devoted wife of 62 years, Don leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to his family and his community.
He was the proud father of five children: Mark (Beth) Ferry, David (Marianne) Ferry, Michelle
Terry, Deanna (Jamie) Forbidussi, and Donald (Christine) Ferry. He was a doting grandfather to
14 grandchildren: Derek (Mikala) Ferry, Devin (Mackenzie) Ferry, Jordan Terry, David (Megan)
Ferry, KC (Kate) Terry, Dominik (Renee) Forbidussi, Danielle Forbidussi, Julia Terry, Samantha
(Billy) Aswad, Maria Forbidussi, Dylan Ferry, Tessa Ferry, Anthony Forbidussi, and Zachary
Ferry. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren with two more set to arrive in 2025: Jett,
Jovie, and Nash Ferry; Anna James Terry; Hailey Ferry; and Stihl Willoughby.
Don was also a devoted "dog dad" to Sadie, his Yorkshire Terrier, who brought him boundless
joy and companionship.
A pillar of the Hillcrest community, Don was honored as Man of the Year by the Hillcrest
Community Association, where he dedicated countless hours volunteering. He was also a
steadfast supporter of Boy Scout Troop 199, embodying the values of leadership and
community service.
Don’s friendships were a treasured part of his life. He enjoyed frequent golf outings, once
achieving a remarkable hole-in-one. He was a founder of and fixture at weekly Scat card games
and an enthusiastic host of an annual horseshoe tournament, where laughter and camaraderie
flourished.
Don never missed his children’s sporting events, concerts, camping trips and other assorted
extracurriculars, always prioritizing their milestones and achievements. He often said his family
was his greatest legacy, a sentiment reflected in the deep bond he shared with them.
In addition to his community involvement and dedication to his family, Don worked for Columbia
Gas for over 40 years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment.
In his spare time, Don found joy in refinishing furniture and was a passionate car enthusiast,
with a particular fondness for his 1965 Ford Mustang and his beloved Chevy El Camino.
Donald B. Ferry Jr.’s life was a testament to love, hard work, and unwavering dedication. His
family, friends, and community will forever remember his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Donald B. Ferry, Sr. and his sister, Donna
Sypher.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Don’s and Pat’s home nurse, Brittany, for her
exceptional care and support and for going above and beyond the call of duty during their final
days.
In honoring Don's wishes, a private family service will be held to celebrate his remarkable life.
