Everyone has a “Dan(Abe)-ism”… A story that makes us smile, makes us think, makes us better. And now, it is what we hold on to. What we pull out when we need light in the darkness. What we hold onto when the world feels heavy. Because everyone’s “Dan(Abe)-Story” is equal parts funny, inspiring and treasured.

Dan made the world a better place. Whether you had a lifelong connection or were newly acquainted, it was not enough time with him. He approached life with passion, kindness and a healthy dose of humor. His ability to make time for those who needed it, to prioritize the things that really mattered, to sympathize, empathize, and poke fun all the while making you feel seen and important…was legendary. And he passed these gifts along to Riley, Nolan and Reese.
An avid outdoorsman Dan thrived in the wood, surrounded by nature. Obsessed with music, he favored anything with a sick bass. He adored coaching Riley, Nolan and Reese, and countless others, in youth sports and later became their biggest cheerleader in the stands.
Dan inspired those around him to be good and to find good. He believed that where there is love, nothing is too much to ask and that spending time with those you love was always the right choice.
Born December 22, 1966 in Glens Falls, NY, Dan enjoyed an incredibly full and extraordinary life alongside Stephanie for close to 32 years. Riley, Nolan and Reese have always been their primary focus and given them their greatest joys. Dan also thrived on the love and laughter of his siblings, their offspring and countless dear friends.
After graduating from Hoosic Valley High School, Dan earned his BA from Cobleskill and his BS from Cornell University in Agricultural Economics. He married the love of his life, Stephanie in 1990 and they soon moved to Whitney Point NY. His first job was with Cobblestone Creek Landscaping. His devotion to agriculture drove him to make a career at Telmark Inc, after that he lent his talents to Wells Fargo, Business Lease Consultants, and Northland Capital. But he truly found a home with the people he loved at Ag Direct.
Danny is survived by the loving family he raised together with his awesome wife, Stephanie: sons Riley and Nolan; daughter Reese; mother Pat Abrahamson; siblings Diane and Scott Sprague; Pam and Sean Bice; Todd and Kathy Abrahamson; Bill and Alicia Lipinski, Tanya and Peter Averill; Melanie and Drew Wickham; nieces and nephews: Matt Sprague, Nate and Olivia Sprague, Kathryn Sprague, Laura Sprague and Seth Urckfitz, Samuel Bice, Patrick Johnson, Alice Abrahamson, Abby and Jay Fenlason, Dwayne and Teal Lipinski, Steven and Libby Lipinski, Emily Lipinski; Sean and Bianca Lipinski, Kirk and Miles Lipinski, Maegan Lipinski and Nick Castle, Samantha and Mark Schreck, Tim and Shannon Wickham, Ben and Jess Wickham, Dan and Cortni Wickham; and many great nieces and nephews.
