Alice E Callahan

Alice E. (Ackerson) Callahan, 65, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. She was predeceased by her Mother Alice Ackerson, Nephew Jordan Godbout, Son-in-law Jason Smith, Sr. and Stepmother Roberta Ackerson.

She is survived by her Father Frederick G. Ackerson; Children Diana Smith, Mark & Lisa Callahan and Christi & Eric Griffith, Stepchildren Matt & Cocina Williams; Grandchildren Jason & Kori, Daniel, Austin, Kayleigh, Gavin, Diana, Matthew, Dylan, Gabriella, Oliver, Sam and Dawson; 3 Great Granddaughters; Siblings Cathy & Vince Godbout, Fred & Patty Ackerson, Soulsisters Phyllis, Lynn, Brenda and many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Special Friends.

Alice graduated from Union Endicott High School in 1977. She was employed at Endicott Johnson where she met the love of her life and became a forever part of the Callahan Family. She also worked for Broome Developmental Center for many years.

She was a very social person who was a very complementary, kind friend to everyone. She enjoyed her coffee talks, soap operas, gossip, and her scratch offs. Bingo was her gamey-o! Most of all she loved spending time with those she claimed as family. Her love was unconditional and as rare as the gold at the end of a rainbow. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 11 AM-12 PM with a Funeral Service to follow at 12 PM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
