September 27, 1958 - November 26, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Olivia Queiroz on November 26, 2024, at the age of 66, after a courageous battle with cancer. Olivia passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones.
Olivia was a talented artist whose artwork reflected her deep love for life, nature and constant learning. She cherished spending time outdoors, especially when canoeing on serene waters, and her dog Kayah was always by her side. Olivia’s home was her sanctuary, where she took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming space for her family and friends.
Olivia’s greatest joy came from being with those she loved. She was a devoted mother to her children and a loving partner to Don. She treasured the time spent with her family and friends, always offering her kind heart, vibrant energy and not-so-slight sarcasm to those around her. Olivia’s passion for hairdressing brought her immense satisfaction, and she loved making others feel beautiful inside and out.
Olivia is survived by her loving partner, Don; her children and their families:
Meliza, her husband Denis and children Vida and Felix,
Andrew, his wife Nicole with their children Aiden, Ryder and Jordan,
Brett, his wife Yuna and their child Aria.
And Dylan.
She is also survived by her brother Alfredo, his wife Sonomi; and her nieces, Lujan, Mariana, Cássia her husband Beto and their child Margot; her nephew, Gustavo; and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Fernando and sister, Cidalia.
There will be a mass at the Portuguese Parish Our Lady of Fatima 1423 East 13th Ave, Vancouver on Wednesday, December 4 at 6:30pm. This will be a regular weekday mass with a special intention for Olivia.
In lieu of a formal celebration of life, the family will be organizing and making some of Olivia's artwork available. People may purchase items for the cost of a donation which will go to her grandkids. More details will be shared here on Facebook and Instagram.
Olivia will be deeply missed, but her love, art and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. We know she will be met with open arms by her brother Fernando, and sister, Cidalia and are comforted by that fact 🤍
Rest in peace, Olivia.
