It is with great pain and sadness that we announce the death of our daughter Jennifer Anne McIntosh (nee Stengert) age 52 on July 19th, 2023, from pancreatic cancer. Jennifer was born in Burnaby, B.C. on January 23, 1971, to Herb and Carol Stengert of Pitt Meadows, B.C. Jennifer wore numerous hats as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt cousin, friend and girlfriend.
Jennifer is survived by her three children, Matthew, Michael and Jessica McIntosh of Port Coquitlam, parents Herb and Carol Stengert of Pitt Meadows, brother David (Denette) Stengert , nephews Jacob and Nickolas Stengert of Maple Ridge, boyfriend Sean Pretty of Port Coquitlam, Uncle and Godfather Douglas Gibbs of West Kelowna, and Godmother Diane Griffin of Maple Ridge along with other nephews and nieces. Her dearest friends Greg and Charlene Ryskie, Shannon Magnuson and too many more to individually mention.
Jennifer graduated from high school in 1988 in Prince George, B.C. She began her career with TELUS (formerly BC Tel) on May 1, 1989, in Prince George as a Radio Operator. She followed the path of her great grandfather, grandfather, great uncle, and uncle, all of whom either worked for B.C. Telephone Co., BCTel, TELUS or CT&S. Over the passing years, she has performed various roles within the company, allowing her the opportunities to gain experience, develop her knowledge base and skill set. Jennifer started with the Claims Team in 2004 as a Jr. Claims Advisor and by March 2019 was promoted to Claims Manager, TELUS Risk Management. In November 2017, Jennifer won the Robert Fisher Clark Award, presented to her as the top student (Claims Major) in the FCIP, issued by Insurance Institute of Canada.
JennyMac, as she sometimes called herself, was a compassionate and loving person and if you became a friend of hers you were very fortunate to have been one. She was very strong in her Faith and knew that she would be going to the Father when she left this earth. Her children as well as her extended family and her boyfriend were her priority in life, and as always, family came first.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, 3151 York St., Port Coquitlam, B.C. on August 11, 2023, at 11:00 am followed by a luncheon at the church. Pastor Vic Esperanza officiating. Private Interment to follow.
