Hermogenes Francisco

Hermogenes (Menes) passed away peacefully on March 15, 2017 while surrounded by his family at the age of 89 in Coquitlam. Predeceased by his parents, Florentino and Lorenza Francisco, seven siblings, and two of his children.

Born April 19, 1927 in Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines. Menes was the youngest of nine children.

He married Asuncion De Leon on January 5, 1947. They raised six children and immigrated to Canada in 1981 where they settled in Coquitlam, BC.

Tatay is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Asuncion, their five daughters; Emelita (Danilo); Elvira (Ernesto), Carina (Nelson), Salome (Danilo), Virginia (Domingo), and one son Hermogenes Jr. (Juliet).

Tatay will be remembered by his sister, Florentina.

Tatay will be missed by their fifteen grandchildren; Jon (Stacey), Joycelyn (Casi), Christine (Ronald), Jeremy, Christian, Dominic, Grace, Samantha, J-Ann, Sherilyn, Stephanie, Annmarie, Anntonette, Darren, and Janet and eight great-grandchildren; Daniella, Mikayla, Julia, Nathan, Jayden, Madelyn, Markus, and Ziona.

Menes loved painting, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Tatay will always be remembered as the Portrait of the Francisco Family. His devotion, dedication, and limitless support to his family, his friends, and his community will leave an impressive and indelible mark on the lives he touched.
