We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Frank Wayne Bell on July 21, 2024, and Diane Rose Bell (Buchan) on August 29, 2024. Their passing is a profound loss for those they have left behind, but a beautiful testament to a lifelong partnership.
Frank and Diane are survived by their children Bob (Sandra), and Stacey MacKenzie (Scott) and their beloved grandchildren, Keegan, Jamie, Rylee, Raegan and Skylar.
Frank was born on September 24, 1942, in Calgary, Alberta and was adopted by William and Hilda Bell at the age of 2 and was their only child. In his early 50’s, Frank discovered he was adopted and a search led him to find his half-siblings, Ross and Nancy MacDonald. A very close relationship with Ross, Nancy and their families was formed.
A skilled automotive painter, Frank worked for many years at Dueck on Marine and Courtesy Chev Olds, ending his career teaching at Vancouver Community College and BCIT. However, his true passion lay in coaching soccer. The friendships he built with fellow coaches and players was immensely meaningful to him.
Diane was born on April 17, 1946, in Vancouver, BC, to her loving parents William and Dorothy Buchan. Predeceased by her brother Ken and sister Donna, she is survived by her brothers, Joe (Joanne), Bob (Debbie) and sister-in-law June. Diane leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she adored.
Diane spent many years working in the customer service department for Canada Safeway and dedicated much of her time volunteering for lacrosse organizations such as the Burnaby Lakers, Port Coquitlam Saints and Langley Thunder. A devoted sports fan, Diane loved baseball the most but had a special place in her heart for lacrosse. She spent many hours in arenas cheering on her son and later, her grandchildren.
