Andrew Nelson Mazurek Jr., passed away on March 7, 2024, at the age of 58. Born on July 15, 1965, in Baltimore, Maryland, Andy leaves behind a legacy of dedication, intelligence, and unwavering strength.
Andy was the cherished husband of Raili, whose love and companionship brought joy to his life. In his immediate family, he was the son of Lambert and Terry Lauro, and a loving brother to Kathy (and her husband Mike Loya); Michele; and Nick (and his wife Michelle). He also leaves behind his cherished father in law Tim Jokela Sr.; brother in law Tim Jokela Jr.; his niece Morgan; many dear cousins and his Uncle John.
Andy’s career as a Gaming Producer spanned prestigious companies including Atari, Hasbro, Infotech, Nokia, Fingerfood and Unity, where his strong work ethic and brilliant mind left an indelible mark on the industry.
Renowned for his exceptional memory and intelligence, Andy was a deep thinker who challenged those around him as he navigated his own life with bravery and resilience. He rarely complained and never gave up hope throughout all of his considerable health challenges.
Andy’s passions were as diverse as they were deep-rooted. He loved to cook, ski, and was a history buff. He found solace in music, delight in trivia, and wonder in movies, particularly in the realms of Star Trek and science fiction. His love extended to his cherished cats, Loki and Penny, who brought him comfort and joy.
Kind-hearted, generous, and romantic, Andy’s love knew no bounds. His love for his friends, baseball, football, playing games and the simple pleasures of life enriched those around him and created lasting memories.
Though Andy’s physical presence may be gone, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience that will continue to inspire generations to come. Andrew Nelson Mazurek Jr. will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of sharing in his memorable life.
