Veronica M. Balsamo, 90, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away August 9, 2013. She was born March 4, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY to Cono and Maria Cimino. She was a winter guest to this area for many years before settling in Punta Gorda full time over twenty years ago from Ronkonkoma, NY. She was a Seamstress in New York before retiring in the late 80's. Mrs. Balsamo was a former Elks Lodge member in New York and locally, she was a member of the Sons of Italy, the Senior Friends and N.A.R.F.E. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda.
She is survived by her children, Philip Balsamo of Punta Gorda, FL; Judy (John) Pizzolorusso of Ronkonkoma, NY; daughter-in-law, Doris Balsamo of Myakka City, FL; grandchildren, Racquel (Ryan) Sommers, Noel (Bill) Howison, Dina Balsamo, Jason and Paul Pizzolorusso, Philip Jr and Anthony Balsamo; great grandchildren, Tristan and Adrianna Sommers. She was pre deceased by her husband, Camillo July 10, 2007 and her son Richard May 3, 2003.
