Stanley Edward Wilson, Jr. age 95, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away September 12, 2021. He was born May 22, 1926 in Covington, KY to Stanley Edward Wilson, Sr. and Lucy Newhall Wilson. Stanley was a graduated of Dixie Heights High School and attended the University of Kentucky. Stanley proudly served his country in WWII with the 101st Airborne, Screaming Eagles. He was a Paratrooper and Pathfinder. He also served in Korea. After serving in the US Air Force, he went on to work as an accountant. Stanley was a member of the American Legion. He was an avid fan of his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities. Papaw would be at most of their sporting events and you would see him on the sideline cheering them on. Those who knew him best would say that Stanley was affable, he loved life, and was always welcoming. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Andrea Elizabeth Bain Wilson; his son, Warner; and his brother, James B. (Helen) Wilson. He is survived by his son, Glenn (Alexandrea) Wilson; daughter, Diane (Carson Yeates) Miller; grandchildren, Jonathan (Teresa) Hayse, Katrina Miller, Aaron (Wendy) Wilson, Michael (Dale) Miller, and Shanda Forish; and numerous great grandchildren. A service for Stanley will take place Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 12 pm at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home; 635 E. Marion Ave., Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
