Scott Fitzgerald, 58, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away on November 11, 2024. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of Kathleen Fitzgerald Cimaglia and the late Robert Michael Fitzgerald.
A 1984 graduate of Toll Gate High School in Warwick, RI, his previous employment included work with the Rhode Island State Attorney General’s office as a network analyst and the Warwick, RI Police Department.
Scott made the move from Rhode Island to Florida and loved being able to enjoy the sun and warm weather all year round. An avid and accomplished photographer, Scott took beautiful photos of a variety of different subjects, and was particularly fond of capturing animals in their natural habitats. He was regularly sought after for weddings, tributes and other events to create lasting photographic memories of important moments in peoples’ lives.
A life-long fan of the New England Patriots, Scott loved watching football, golfing, biking, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He was a friend to anyone who needed assistance, support, comfort or a laugh, with an amazing sense of humor, who could always find hilarity in even the most absurd situations.
He is survived by his beloved children, son Robert and daughter Katelyn, mother Kathleen Cimaglia, sister Kim Fitzgerald Kurland and his cherished dog Jack. He is proceeded in death by his father Robert Fitzgerald and paternal grandmother Viola Fitzgerald.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Scott in Rhode Island on Monday, Dec. 9 (10AM-1PM). Friends and family are invited to reflect on memories, stories, special moments and thoughts to share during the celebration.
