

Sandra Jean Couto, also known as Sandy, peacefully passed away on December 12, 2023, at the age of 77. Born on August 16, 1946 in Elizabeth New Jersey, she was the beloved daughter of Antero and Alzira Costa.
Sandy was a woman of immense love, kindness, and generosity. Her presence brought warmth and joy to the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Manuel Couto, her son David Couto and his wife Veronica, her daughter Michelle Lebron, her grandchildren, Tony Couto, Brooke Carlton and her husband Justin, Joshua Lebron, Jamie Couto, and Greyson Couto, as well as her great grandchild. During her professional journey, Sandy thrived as a manager at Manuel Couto Construction. Her dedication, leadership, and skills made a lasting impact within the company and the industry.
Outside of her career, Sandy found solace and joy in her cherished hobbies. She took great pleasure in the art of reading, finding inspiration and enlightenment within the pages of her favorite books. In addition, Sandy possessed a remarkable talent for crocheting, creating intricate and beautiful pieces that showcase her creativity and passion. Furthermore, she selflessly shared her faith as a religious teacher for RCIA and catechesis, guiding and nurturing others on their spiritual journeys.
Sandy’s memory will forever be cherished by her loved ones, and all who were touched by her gentle and compassionate nature. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire future generations.
A visitation for Sandra will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 2405 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33952. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at San Antonio Catholic Church, 24445 Rampart Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33980. A graveside service will occur Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 1380 Forrest Nelson Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
